Air Berlin Flights to Munster

NEWSFLASH! Air Berlin has ceased flights from Glasgow and Belfast.

Air Berlin is a low fares airline headquartered at Berlin (Tegel) airport in Germany. From the UK, flights depart from London (Stansted) and Manchester and fly direct to Berlin (Tegel), Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Hanover, Leipzig and Paderborn and Münster in Germany. From their hub at Berlin airport they fly to attractive destinations all over Europe. Air Berlin prides itself on excellent service onboard provided by friendly cabin crew, something for which they have already received multiple awards. Readers of the trade journal "Reise und Preise" ("Travel and Prices") voted Air Berlin the top German airline. In 2003 Air Berlin carried 9.6 million passengers which made it the second largest German airline after Lufthansa. View Flight Schedules

The icing on the cake for Air Berlin is their young fleet. On average their aircraft are less than three years old, which means they are always quiet and economical. While the major flag carriers fly to huge airports such as Frankfurt, Munich or Düsseldorf, Air Berlin has become the first discount airline to operate to and from "fringe airports" such as Münster/Osnabrück, Nuremberg, Paderborn, Dresden and Dortmund. Air Berlin aims to provide "blanket coverage" to provide a convenient service for its passengers.

Air Berlin is a discount airline, the second-largest in Germany, with service to most major European destinations as well as holiday hotspots in the Canary Islands, across the Mediterranean and even into North Africa. These connections are handled across a network of 16 airports in Germany, with headquarters at Berlin-Tegel International Airport.

In recent years, the airline has grown and taken a stake in the Austrian airline, Niki, as well as in the LTU International charter airline. This expanded fleet of aircraft provided service to nearly 20 million travellers in 2006, and together they are one of the leading airline groups in all of Europe. Ultimately, Air Berlin hopes to add more long-haul routes to its itinerary in order to begin asserting a greater presence among German airlines.

Currently, Air Berlin and its subsidiaries operate a mixed fleet of Airbus, Boeing and Fokker aircraft. Today, these aircraft total 123, with plans to expand dramatically in the near future. As many as 110 new Airbus A320s and 60 Boeing Next Generation aircraft may be launched in the coming years.

The service provided by Air Berlin is unique among discount airlines in that many services normally cut out by other no frills airlines are still included with Air Berlin. Free in-flight meals and refreshments are sometimes included with the standard ticket price, and passengers still receive the convenience of advanced seat reservations at no additional cost. When the meal is not included, passengers have the option to purchase impressive gourmet meals a la carte.

Another diversion from standard low-cost tactics is that service exceeds limited point-to-point transport through onward connections across the airline's many satellite hubs. As with other competing low-cost airlines, Air Berlin helps keep its costs down by encouraging automated web check-in and supplying self check-in stations at the terminal.
